This week I launched Notes on the Substack app. I will use this space to share thoughts and bits through the week, outside of the weekly Sunday posts. You can discover this section using the tabs on my Substack homepage.
Explain like I’m a memer
While you read this, I’m most probably making the most of my last day as a 28-year-old as I embrace the last of my twenties on July 17🥲
annnddd…July also marks the 6-month anniversary for Anticlimatic (the first post was published in February 2023)🥳🥳🥳
It’s a double celebration!!
So here’s raising a toast to you sticking around with Anticlimatic for 6 months and me getting a wee bit wiser (hopefully)🥂
Now, milestones also demand some reflection, don’t they?
Join me on a visual tour of the last six months at Anticlimatic and also get a sneak-peek into the future.
Welcome to Anticlimatic’s half-yearly review
Things that came your way
What began as a noob attempt to fill the gap in producing easy-to-understand, exciting and forward-looking content on climate change and everything it intersects, looks something like this at this point…
In the last six months at Anticlimatic, you have read

Things that came Anticlimatic’s way
As you stuck with this blog, Anticlimatic achieved a massive geographical reach, which I truly did not expect so soon.
My Substack dashboard (refer screenshot below) tells me that Anticlimatic is read by people in 23 countries across 5 continents. South America and Antarctica, you need to join the bandwagon soon!
Located in these countries are my dearest subscribers whose number is fast inching towards a 400. The screengrab from my Substack dashboard below indicates the total subscriber count as on July 16, 2023 (09:00 IST) and graphs the rise in count over the last 90 days.
As you continued reading posts, week on week, you showered Anticlimatic with
While these numbers may not mean much yet in an absolute sense, their growth is indication enough that things are headed in the right direction.
Things that could have done better
I’m sure there are aplenty but here are the key ones:
Pursuant to making a public commitment of posting every Sunday, I missed to post one of the weeks solely because of mismanaged time and not preparing in advance. Sincere apologies, again. Be assured, corrective measures are WIP :)
Confession: I am a master procrastinator who has, at multiple ocassions, thrived at the edge finishing the post of the day just minutes before hitting Publish. And that has not fared too well with my husband who has been left hanging alone on multiple weekends 🙈. I promise to be better than this, Shikhar.
What is there to look forward to?
In my head, the next six months for Anticlimatic are filled with more experiments to build a wholesome experience for you, the readers. Expect some of these:
Zooming in on some radical ideas being implemented by startups to build novel climate solutions;
Collaborating with thought leaders and experts in the field through guest posts;
AI generated visuals for an enhanced imagination of the future in my posts (I’ve recently started tinkering with Midjourney);
Direct chat on Substack to make conversations between you and me extremely low effort; and
Bonus fun content! (gotta wait a little before I spill the beans…)
Finally, the most important bit.
I wouldn’t have been writing this reflection had it not been for YOU.
THANK YOU for reading, trusting and supporting Anticlimatic through your subscription and/or otherwise. Wherever in the world you are, you mean a lot to me. You are the founding team of Anticlimatic and we’re just getting started! Your wishes, advice and feedback are all as important as fresh air so please keep sending them my way as much as you can. Anticlimatic thrives on it.
If you’ve made it this far, please drop in a Hi! (or even a Happy Birthday works 😄) at saydogra@gmail.com or simply respond to this email (if you’re subscribed). I’d love to hear from you.
As we celebrate this milestone and your cherished support, I urge you to spread the word about Anticlimatic among your family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances (and subscribe, if you haven’t already) so that we can become a bigger and better world wide web of Anticlimatic learners.
Wish you a very happy birthday Syesha.
Happy bday dude. To many more of these🥂
